HOW TO RIDE

RIDE BY RESERVATION

Haywood Public Transit offers flexible services to meet the needs of our clients. These services include wheelchair transportation, handicap seating, driver assistance, affordable prices and even solutions for service animals.

Rides are available through our set loop routes and by reservation.

Scheduling

To schedule pickup by our drivers, please call two business days day before your planned trip. Our scheduler will coordinate pickup with our dispatcher.

Cancellation

If your plans change, as long as our dispatcher knows the trip needs to be cancelled BEFORE the driver arrives the trip will not count as a no show. Otherwise, you will be charged for the missed trip and must cover the cost before you ride again. No-shows will impact your privilege for transit service.

Payment

At the time you schedule your ride, our scheduler will tell you the cost of the fare. Drivers collect fares as you board the vehicle, and do not carry change, so please provide exact amounts.

RIDE BY ONE OF OUR SET ROUTES

Haywood Public Transit now offers set weekday bus routes through the core of Haywood County, serving both Clyde & Canton (Black Bear “EAST” route) and Hazelwood & Waynesville (Mountaineer “WEST” Route). Multiple stops are available for both routes. Haywood Community College is available on both routes.
