14 Mar Going the Extra Mile
We’ve experienced lots of growth in the past few years. New routes are operating in Waynesville and Canton, and a broad range of earlier services are popular and growing. Still, our staff members have been willing to step up time and time again to help friends and neighbors get through tough challenges.
Last year, after-hours heat failure occurred at the McCracken Adult Living Facility in Waynesville, and the sudden relocation of dozens of residents was needed. Haywood County Emergency Services reached out to us for help, and Haywood Transit worked late hours to make the move happen.
When disastrous floods created widespread damage in Canton and Cruso, new shuttle routes in the flood zone helped disaster victims get around, and employees went above and beyond. When the pandemic caused hardship, Haywood Transit staff helped distribute food.
Our growing impact is something we’re really proud of. Thank you to the members of the Haywood Transit team!
